About Us

View from the Elks Lodge overlooking a tranquil lake.
View from the Elks Lodge overlooking a tranquil lake.

Perched above a peaceful lake on Elk Lane, the Cape Girardeau Elks Lodge is the kind of place that stops you mid-sentence when you walk in and catch that view. Members and visiting Elks alike have made it a point to seek this lodge out, drawn by word of mouth and the simple promise of a welcoming room with real people in it.

The lodge sits on grounds that include lakeside RV and camping sites, making it one of the more distinctive Elks locations in Missouri. Anglers pull up looking for good fishing. Road-trippers on motorcycles have been known to park their bikes at the water and walk the three-quarter mile hill just to spend an evening here. Rated 4.6 out of 5 across 119 reviews, this is not a place that coasts on its charter. It earns that score every week.

The BPOE tradition runs deep here, but the atmosphere never feels stiff or ceremonial for its own sake. The clubhouse is smoke-free, the crowd is friendly, and the conversation flows as naturally as the view does. If you are an Elk passing through Cape Girardeau, consider this your standing invitation.

What We Offer

The lodge offers a smoke-free clubhouse with an interior large enough to host events, gatherings, and the kind of impromptu evenings that turn into late nights. The panoramic lake view from the property is not incidental, it is a genuine feature that members return for season after season.

Lakeside camping and RV hookups set this lodge apart from most fraternal facilities in the region. Members can park directly on the water, wake up to morning fog on the lake, and spend the day fishing before heading up the hill to the clubhouse. It is a full experience, not just a meeting room.

Visiting Elks members are always welcome to stop in with their membership cards. The lodge also supports the Elks National Foundation charitable programs, community youth initiatives, and veterans outreach consistent with the BPOE mission. Check the lodge calendar or reach out through elks.org for upcoming events and meeting schedules.

"Excellent lodge, I am a visiting Elk because I was in town for work and had the time to pop in. They have a pretty bad ass view of the lake behind them and camping sites! The inside is pretty big as well. Large wrap around bar, dance floor and space for parties. Large deck with a view and great food. Pretty unique lodge overall with the amenities. Also the bar has the best seats! Comfy, padded and wrapped in leather. Excellent Elks lodges to check out."

"We parked our RV on the lake as Elks members. Very peaceful and looks like great fishing. We only had motorcycles as transportation so we walked 3/4 of a mile up the hill to hang out in the lodge and another 3/4 mile back down. We don’t mind walking, but others might want to note that. You will have to drive back up. #TeamShinemeyer"

"The grilled lunch salad today was really good. I ordered the smaller size, not the entree size, and I could barely finish it! As always, the lunch Staff went over, and beyond today, in serving us. Thank you"

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
